So what do you do when someone you loved, cheats on you and has no desire to love you? What do you do when the one you love breaks your heart and decides on someone else? What would be your natural instinct? Well the natural instinct would be to try to forget that person that hurt you and move on.
Well there did you know there is someone that no matter what happens, he never forgets and never leaves. Let’s discover who he is.
Hosea 2:13 “when she put on her earrings and jewels and went out to look for her lovers but forgot all about me,” says the Lord.”
In this particular verse, Israel is depicted as woman that adorns herself to go after idols and forgets the LORD. But Israel really represents anybody that has forgotten about God.
Have you forgotten about God? In my life there was a time that I forgot about my relationship with my Lord. I put my will first. I was so busy doing a thousand things, Miami style. I was surrounded all the time by the glamour Miami offers, social events for “status”, beautiful men and women. Once you put something or someone first in your life that becomes your idol, your “god”.
One thing I learned about life is that we can’t be neutral. You either are for something or against something. You are either light or not. And even when you are silent you are speaking.
Maybe you’ve made decisions in your life like I did that were not the best. Maybe you are in a place now that you really don’t want to be. You feel you are at a dead end, and you wonder if there is more to life.
Or maybe you feel guilty, or unworthy for where you have been. You could even be someone that is caught in toxic relationship or unhealthy situation. You don’t see a way out; you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. The word “GOD” doesn’t even come to mind any more.
Let me tell you something my friend: you may forget GOD but He doesn’t forget you!
Hosea 2:14, “But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there.
When we have turned our back on him, when we have gone our own separate way, denied him, rejected him with our actions, you know what He does? He wants to win you over! He pursues us! He shows us his love, his mercy and grace even more! He runs towards you!
Finally, we read Hosea 2:19, 20 I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the Lord.
You know what betrothed means? It means, “engaged to be married”. When someone is engaged they are in love with that someone, they are absolutely convinced they want to share the rest of their life with that someone. This type of commitment happens when love is reciprocated.
God wants to commit to you the rest of your life. But the difference in God’s case is that he wants to love and commit to you, even when his love is not reciprocated. This is the love GOD has for you!
His love is unfailing; He never abandons you and is unconditional. He longs you and wants to be part of your life. He wants to restore you, equip you, empower you, raise you up, give you what was taken; He wants you to feel HIS GRACE and LOVE!
You are not forgotten!! You are not alone. You are a woman that is LOVED by the Most HIGH!! To the point he gave HIS LIFE ON THE CROSS for YOU! He died for you knowing that one day you would forget him.
So now run back to him, embrace his grace, and hold on to His love! Remember your GOD! Remember who loved you and never has stopped loving you! You are not forgotten!
